Comprehensive Study Report
Tracadie Rivers Link Channel Project

The Corporation du Développement des Deux Rivières Tracadie Inc. proposes the construction and dredging of an approximately four kilometer channel within the Pointe à Bouleau property and the McLaughlin lagoon in Tracadie-Sheila, New Brunswick. The purpose of the proposal is to establish a sheltered link between the two Tracadie Rivers, allow fishing boats from the wharf of Tracadie-Sheila access to the Gulf of St-Lawrence through the Val Comeau Gully Channel and increase pleasure boating traffic on Petite Tracadie River and Grande Tracadie River.
Under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, Human Resources Development Canada, as the responsible authority for the project, has conducted a comprehensive study of the proposal and has submitted a copy of the report to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency.
Pursuant to the Act, the Agency invites the public to comment on the conclusions, recommendations and any other aspect of the comprehensive study report. All comments received by the Agency will become part of the public registry for the project.
Interested persons have until October 30, 1998 to address their remarks in the official language of their choice to the Agency project officer.  Captain Daniel Losier was one of the Engineer on this project.
